Chelsey was raised in South Auckland she has been an Aucklander throughout her whole childhood and adulthood. Studying a bachelor’s or sport and recreation she has always had a passion for supporting her community and looking at ways to provide opportunities for others. She found her passion for supporting young people and children at the YMCA; now known as The Y. Through her work with the youth development programme Raise Up. From there she has worked in safeguarding and child protection and supported youth workers across Aotearoa. She is purpose-driven doing what she can to support children and young people to have more opportunities to reach their goals and shine.
